The legendary Rapala Countdown lure was introduced back in the 60s and is still included among the favorites of professional and casual anglers alike. The gravity defying body of the Countdown sinks, at a foot per second, to your desired depth allowing you to repeatedly reach and retrieve without rising out of the strike zone. With this lure, you can find fish quickly and consistently throughout the water column, whether they’re at the weed tops or holding bottom.
DID YOU KNOW - The Countdown and X Rap Countdown series lures sink at a steady rate of 1 Feet per second and hence you can count them down to the depth you want them the be and thus they get their name.
I am yet to come across a Rapala lure which is not effective. Their R&D in the manufacturing of lures is the best in the industry.

perfect for fishing any depth
The Rapala Countdown sinks about a foot a minute and that makes it perfect to fish at any depth, no changing lure, just one lure that works as both- a shallow and deep diver! It's the best lure to start fishing with to know which depth the fish are feeding at, especially when fish are sitting in the mid-water column depth, a couple of casts and letting the Rapala Countdown sink to the right level lets you find the feeding depth of the fish. It tends to sink at about 1 foot per sec ... so 4 secs and ur lure will be swimming at 4 feet!
The Rapala Countdown must-have in your tackle box! and don't forget to give the lure a good twitch from time to time as you retrieve it!
